Like many 2020 couples, they had big, “Up-themed” wedding plans that was whittled down to ten people attending. I wanted to create something special for them so made a picture slideshow from all the family and composed this piece heavily inspired by “Up,” their favorite movie. This composition will take your students through a variety of keys: F, D, B, G. There are no dynamics or composer marks in this score, which makes it perfect for the student to take leadership in determining the best tempo, dynamics, and portrayal of this piece. I interpreted it one way, but it can be played a variety of ways.
