This workshop, aimed toward youth, took a select number of applicantsfrom all around North America and provided them individual tutoring with well-establishedcomposers, theory professors, and musicians during the Covid-19 pandemic and its associatedshutdown of society. The workshop was centered around the theme "Encoded Composition," wherethe music written portrayed some sort of hidden meaning, either illustrated through the music orthrough the individual notes composed on staff paper. All the pieces created during the workshopwere performed by professional musicians (including solo instrumentation for piano, viola, unpitchedpercussion, and pitched percussion). In all, there were applicants from around North America,including the United States, Canada, and El Salvador.
