About this arrangement

Orchestra - Level 2 SKU: FV.FUE-2612 Composed by Melanie (Mel) Bonis. Sound Research of Women Composers: Music of the Romantic (R 76). Score. Furore Verlag #FUE 2612. Published by Furore Verlag (FV.FUE-2612). ISBN 979-0-50182-300-0.The three dances have been published in 1909 at Demets. They are dedicated to the composer's three children from her marriage to Albert Domange - Pierre, Jeanne and Edouard. Mel Bonis refers back to the old style, which was very popular at that time. In the Bourree, Mel Bonis follows the traditional form in a fast 2/2 beat, which is initiated by a short one-eighth-off-beat. One long and two short notes are the basis of the elegant pavane. The Sarabande was conducted by the composer on April 26, 1906, in Paris on the occasion of a marathon concert by the Societe Nationale de Musique. CONTENTBourree op. 62/2, Pavane op. 81/3, Sarabande op. 82/2.
