English.Antonín Dvorák (1841-1904) wrote 8 Waltzes, Op. 54, for piano in 1879. At the suggestion of his publisher, he arranged two of the waltzes (nos. 1 and 4) for strings the following year. His transcription, which became more recognizable than the original for piano, could be played by a string quartet, string quintet, or a string orchestra. Either of these waltzes would make a superb encore selection or could, together, anchor a shorter program. The set includes a string count of 8-8-5-5-5. These products are currently being prepared by a new publisher. While many items are ready and will ship on time, some others may see delays of several months.
