After a triumphant and majestic introduction, reminiscent of folksongs and lively dances, the mood calms down with an elegant, yet playful, melody, followed by the Sardana, the traditional Catalonian dance par excellence.Vents Catalans ist eine sinfonische Fantasie, die, ohne konkret auf bestimmte Themen aus der katalanischen Volksmusik zurückzugreifen,ein lebhaftes musikalisches Bild dieser schönen spanischen Region zeichnet. Nach einer triumphalen, majestätischen Einleitung, die an ein bezauberndes Volkslied und einen heiteren Tanz erinnert, folgt eine liebliche, verspielte Melodie sowie eine Sardana, der traditionelle Tanz Katalaniens par excellence. Vents Catalans è una fantasia sinfonica basata su un mosaico di temi del patrimonio culturale catalano. Il grandioso Cant de la Senyera, inno alla bandiera e ai diritti del popolo catalano, affi anca il delicato El Cant dels Ocells, reso celebre da Pablo Casal, mentre la melodia danzante di Els Tres Tambors annuncia la danza tradizionale catalana per eccellenza: la sardana. Vents Catalans sta a simboleggiare l’orgoglio, l’unit e l’identit del popolo catalano.
