Concert band Soprano voice and concert band - Grade 4 SKU: BF.BM953-SET Composed by Richard Strauss. Arranged by Jos van de Braak. Baton Music vocal series. Full Score and set of parts. Baton Music #BM953-SET. Published by Baton Music (BF.BM953-SET). The 'Vier letzte Lieder' (Four Last Songs), Op. posth., for soprano and orchestra are the final completed works of Richard Strauss. They were composed in 1948 when the composer was 84. The songs are 'Frühling' (Spring), 'September', 'Beim Schlafengehen' (When Falling Asleep) and 'Im Abendrot' (At Sunset). The title 'Vier letzte Lieder' was provided posthumously by Strauss's friend Ernst Roth, who published the four songs as a single unit in 1950 after Strauss's death in September 1949. 'September' was composed last but in the 'Vier letzte Lieder' it's the second song.
