This piece was originally written for voice and piano, without any words, but sung with just a vowel sound - most times, "ah". Because there are no lyrics, Rachmaninoff left it up to the musicians and listeners to interpret it as they wished.This arrangement is for 4 altos, bass and contrabass flutes.  There is an optional double string bass part that doubles the contrabass flute.Duration: 6 minutes.
