This rousing, stately and reflective piece of music has been arranged for standard brass band instrumentation (plus percussion) and congregational singing of two verses of this popular hymn.  With  remembrance and memorial performances in mind, this arrangement has been created to provide a concert style accompaniment  for this memorable hymn tune.   After an expressive opening and introduction to the main theme, two verses of the hymn tune Thaxted are set (in a good key for congregation singing) with a small break between. This arrangement will work well for any performance that requires community singing of this great melody.   The PDF is 35 pages in length (portrait A4) and includes a full score and parts for standard British brass band format, plus vocal part, timpani and glockenspiel parts.
