This arrangement for SA voices or vocal duet features independent vocal writing with a lot of canonic imitation. The melody juxtaposes F sharp and F natural as well as B flat and B natural over an open harmonic accompaniment giving a medieval, peasant-like feel. Adding a tambourine, drum, and/or finger cymbal would only enhance the performance. If you're looking for a lesser-known carol for your holiday program, Wexford Carol would be a delightful addition.
