About this arrangement

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1218206 Composed by William Byrd. Arranged by Frank Stubbs. Chamber,Early Music,Historic,Medieval,Renaissance. 12 pages. Frank Stubbs #814688. Published by Frank Stubbs (A0.1218206). The secular madrigal written by William Byrd on the death of his mentor amd colleague Thomas Tallis. Origionally written for 5 voices (usually 4 Viols and Countertenor) arranged here for Brass Quintet. Byrd uses the medieval 'Dorian' mode throughout the piece. The 2 Trumpet parts sound great on Flugelhorn. I have added an optional Trombone part doubling the Horn if a Horn isn't being used.A fantastic addition to the Renaissance repertoir for Brass Quintet.
