The opening is slow and calm, before dawn has arrived. A repeated string of notes from the marimba sounds the promise of a new day. Gradually, new instruments add life to the music, allowing the sun to enter in its full majesty. As the music becomes faster and louder, the sun is now in full ascent, and the magic of Yosemite achieves its full splendor. Exciting melodic passages for the winds, accompanied by a captivating percussion background, allow the listener to vividly picture the beauty that is Yosemite.
