Chicken Scratches on a Turkey Theme is a composition in one movement for violin and piano, 4-5 minutes in duration.  I composed this piece for violinist Milana Reiche, who performed it on her senior recital at the University of Minnesota in 1990.  Having learned that Milana had some fiddling skills, I incorporated hoedown figures inspired by "Turkey in the Straw."
